Faulty Powers is the second episode in Season 1 of The Thundermans: Undercover. It premiered on January 22, 2025.
Plot[]
Summary[]
A training accident makes Chloe's powers faulty; Max tries to cure her and gets a misleading positive result, so she goes to a party; but his treatment actually creates brand new powers Chloe can't control.[2]
Full Plot[]
Booch and Jinx invite Chloe to a cupcake by-the-sea party happening later at Splat By-The-Sea. Chloe gets an alert from Phoebe and Max that she is late for her superhero training. Back at home, Chloe tells Phoebe and Max about the party at Splat By-The-Sea. Max shows Phoebe and Max his digital gamma energy ball and that Chloe has to avoid getting hit by it. Phoebe's sunscreen drops onto a device which caused the energy ball to move quicker and hits Chloe. After getting hit by it, Chloe turns invisible.
Thunderford gives a health scan to Chloe and reveals that the radiation blocker from Phoebe's sunscreen combined with the gamma rays from the energy ball mutated Chloe's superpowers, replacing her teleportation with invisibility that she is unable to control. Dr. Colosso claims he can fix Chloe since he is a doctor, but Thunderford exposes that Dr. Colosso never finished his evil medical degree, so he is not actually a real doctor.
Phoebe decides to do her method to fix Chloe by using her Freeze Breath and Heat Breath on Chloe which made Chloe visible again but has Heat Vision now. Thunderford reveals that the mutation is activating the Thunderman Family DNA and is going to experience all of her families' superpowers. Chloe goes to Max for help and uses his method of reversing the effects of his gamma energy ball and hitting Chloe with it. Chloe has her teleportation power back, so Max assumed she was back to normal so lets Chloe go to the party.
Phoebe made cupcakes for Chloe since she couldn't go to the party until her powers were fixed. Max tells her that he already let her go since Chloe was fixed but Thunderford tells them that Chloe will experience new powers during the party that she is unable to control. In the command center, Dr. Colosso is in an online college lesson so he could pass and become a doctor.
At Splat By-The-Sea, Phoebe and Max tell Chloe that they have to go back home before her new powers activate. Chloe gets magnetism and her hand was stuck on a metal chair. When the powers wear off, Chloe shape-shifts into a cupcake which Phoebe and Max do not know which one she is. Wayland gives cupcakes out to everyone at the party, so Phoebe and Max uses their Telekinesis to throw the cupcakes on the floor before Chloe gets eaten. They knock all of them apart from Jinx who ate a cupcake already so Phoebe and Max attempt to get his cupcake back. Chloe was one of the cupcakes on the floor and reverts back to human and heads back home with Phoebe and Max.
Dr. Colosso practices his graduation speech for passing and becoming a doctor before Phoebe, Max and Chloe return. Thunderford tells Phoebe, Max and Chloe that he found a cure to fix Chloe and sent the prescription to a local super doctor. While alone, Dr. Colosso does his graduation speech online and finds out afterwards he was muted.

- Chloe gets flight for the second time after having it during Thundermans: Secret Revealed.
- Nora wasn't in the show, but this is the first time her superpower, Heat Vision appears in The Thundermans: Undercover, as it was briefly used by Chloe.

- Shapeshifting is seen for the first time as a superpower, although it was used by Chloe briefly.
- If one were to look closely when Chloe shapeshifts into a cupcake, the frosting on the cake she takes form of is purple.
- It's revealed the Hero League recognizes evil degrees as legitimate.
- It is revealed that Chloe still says “baby” when she’s older.
- Super Strength (Hank's power) is the only one of the family powers that did not affect Chloe's power mutation of it.
